I’ve been thinking about Frosty the Snowman.
Of course I know all the words from hearing it all my life. Never thought much about it except that it’s a catchy tune.
Then last year after listening to it, it occurred to me that it’s really sad-because Frosty melts/dies.
Then today as I was cooking and melding two holidays together-making Latkes for Hanukkah and Lobster and Crawfish Grits for Christmas Eve, I was listening to Holiday Music on Pandora. Over the course of the several hours that I was cooking, I heard the song several times. And it occurred to me, that Frosty the Snowman has a really positive message about life. About living our lives to the fullest. He was created out of fun-but time was taken to make him just right-the perfect nose, a silk hat. And he brought joy and a smile to everyone that saw him. And, even though he knew that he was going to melt/die-he played with wild abandon. Running around, playing chase with the kids-probably knowing that all that running around was going to make him melt even faster. But, he didn’t care. Because he was living in the moment. When he knew it was time to go, he told everyone not to be sad-that he would be back one day. and, he was SOBER!!
What a lesson for me! And, maybe you. Let’s all try to live our lives to the fullest. Staying in the moment-in the present. Spreading fun and joy and laughter. And of course love. Knowing not only that we may be back, but we will continue to live in the hearts of all whose lives we’ve touched
Wishing you all a Happy Hanukkah, a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or just lots of Love and Joy in life.
Merry Christmas! Enjoy the moments!

Awesome reflection on the jolly old Frosty bit. My son is into Frosty and I am into sobriety, so I enjoyed it very much!
